Reading preview

Well, it's here, the biggest test of our season so far. It's not just a test of ability but a test of character and a chance for the players to show they have what it takes when it matters
most.

I'm excited purely at the prospect of the team sheets coming out at 2:15 because Guy Demel, Papa Bouba Diop and Winston Reid have all been back in full training this week and with Faubert and Vaz Te coming back into the side at London Road during the week we are pretty much full strength for the first time in a very long time.

Oddly enough the main issue with today's game is out of the players' hands, it's in ours. Booing affects the players, of course it does and although fans who pay a lot of money to go to games are entitled to vent their frustration it doesn't help anyone. I remember the boo boys making an appearance at half time against Boro when it was 0-0 which was ridiculous. Yeah the players were a bit tense and there wasn't enough urgency in their play but we were by far the better team in the first half and it's times like that where we all need to be right behind them and play our part in picking up the three points.

It's a strange run we're on at the moment because before the win on Tuesday we hadn't won in 5 but at the same time having not lost in 10 and we haven't won at home since the 2-1 victory over our bitter rivals Millwall in February, albeit without losing since then either.

I hope Sam goes with 2 up top. He always claims he plays 3 up top in what most people see as a 4-5-1 formation but let's be honest there is a fine line between the two formations. We need pace up front which can be provided by Maynard and Baldock and we all know Vaz Te has the ability to come in from out wide and act as a third centre forward when we are attacking and he will have even more freedom to do that if he's got Faubert behind him as an attacking full-back.

This would be my formation:

Green
Faubert Faye/Collins Tonks McCartney
Vaz Te Noble Nolan(c) Taylor
Maynard Baldock

Subs: Henderson, Faye/Collins, Collison, Diop, Cole.

Let's get behind the lads and play our part in this promotion challenge!

COME ON YOU IRONS!
