Most improved player 2012

In my opinion it has to be between 2 players; Julien Faubert and Winston Reid. It's fair to say that both of them had terrible seasons last term.

Winston Reid, despite being billed as representing his country to distinction at the world cup, barely played under Avram Grant. The £4m man from Midjylland hardly got a looking and despite his goal against Burnely in the FA Cup, he had a very disappointing season.

Julien Faubert on the other hand was a promising player when we first signed him but seemed to lose his way when Zola converted him to a full back and that may just have been the main factor in him falling further and further down the pecking order under Avram Grant.

This season both players have had a massive part to play in our current position with Julien Faubert among the regulars - largely thanks to his versatility - and Winston Reid finally starting to show his potential under Allardyce and establishing himself in the first team.

Are there more candidates, though? James Tomkins has really established himself in the first team as a key player and he's arguable been our best player this season. Mark Noble is continuing to improve season after season and Rob Green has been absolutely outstanding this season and although we know he's capable of the sort of performances he's put in this campaign, it's nice to see his confidence growing after the horrific mistake at the 2010 World Cup.

Who do you think is our most improved player this season?

COME ON YOU IRONS!
